Winter Weather Advisory for Tuesday

Snow, sleet, and freezing rain is on the way according to the according to the National Weather Service. A winter weather advisory is in effect from 8 pm Monday through 1 pm Tuesday. The exact accumulation was unclear, as the snow is expected to mix with rain Tuesday. The National Weather Service is reporting the area could be blanketed with anywhere from a tenth of an inch to an inch of ice.

Dangerous travel conditions are predicted, especially for the Tuesday morning commute. Roads will become slick and slippery. Visibility will be reduced.

Timeline:

  • Monday Night: Snow likely after midnight.
  • Tuesday: Snow will change over to sleet before changing over to freezing rain. Freezing rain is predicted for the morning commute and will change to rain by midday. Highs nearing 36 degrees.
