Local Students Named to Dean’s Lists

Upton Daily will post weekly students named to Dean’s Lists from Colleges and Universities who issue press releases through Readmedia or directly to Upton Daily. 

University of Rhode Island

The University of Rhode Island is pleased to announce that 4,986 undergraduates have qualified for the Fall 2015 Dean’s List.  To be included on the Dean’s List, students must have completed 12 or more credits during a semester for letter grades with at least a 3.30 quality point average qualify for the Dean’s list. Part-time students qualify with the accumulation of 12 credits with a 3.30 quality point average.

Assumption College

Recognizing outstanding student academic achievement, Assumption College has named 509 students to the undergraduate Dean’s List for the fall 2015 semester.

To earn a spot on the Dean’s List, Assumption students must achieve a grade point average of 3.5 for a five-class, 15-credit semester. The Dean’s List is announced twice every academic year, once at the completion of the fall semester, and again at the completion of the spring semester.

“Earning a position on the Dean’s List is a testament to hard work, a sharp mind, and a commitment to academic excellence,” said Assumption College President Francesco Cesareo, Ph.D. “These students’ dedication to their studies reflects the seriousness with which they take the formation of their intellectual and academic lives, an important aspect of the College’s mission.”

Lyndon State College

Brandon White, of Upton, MA, has been named to Dean’s List for the Fall 2015 semester at Lyndon State College. To qualify for Dean’s List, a student must achieve a semester grade-point average (GPA) of 3.5 while enrolled in 12 or more credits per semester.

American International College

John Magliano of Upton, MA, a Junior at American International College has been named to the Fall 2015 Dean’s List. Dean’s List students are full-time students with a grade point average between 3.3 and 4.0.

Springfield College

Springfield College has named the following area students to the Dean’s List for academic excellence for the fall 2015 term.

Megan Gallagher of Upton, MA (01568). Gallagher is studying Applied Exercise Science.

Sarah Wadehul of Upton, MA (01568). Wadehul is studying Mathematics.

Dillon Braile of Mendon, MA (01756). Braile is studying Sports Biology.

Criteria for selection to the dean’s list are as follows: The student must have completed a minimum of 12 credit hours of graded coursework for the semester, exclusive of “P” grades; the student must not have any incompletes, missing grades or “CPs” in the designated semester; the student must have a minimum semester grade point average of 3.500 for the semester; and the student must not have been barred from the dean’s list due to a disciplinary action.

Western New England University

Western New England University congratulates 749 students who were named to the Fall 2015 Dean’s List. The following students are named to the Dean’s List for achieving a semester grade point average of 3.30 or higher:
