Luiz G. Neves, 86, of Upton, passed away early Wednesday, February 10, 2016, at his home after an illness. He was the husband of Ruth Tang Neves.Mr. Neves was born in Sâo Paulo, Brazil, a son of the late Joseph and Francisca (Mathias) das Neves. He was educated in Brazil and came to the United States in 1964, where he lived in Stoughton before coming to Upton two years ago. He was an accountant at the Oakwood Nursing Home in Brighton before retiring about 15 years ago, and was a member of the Baptist Church of Grafton.
In addition to his wife of 55 years, he leaves a daughter, Ana DeSouza of Randolph; one son, Wayne Neves and his wife Heidi Messom-Neves, with whom he lived in Upton; five grandchildren, Christopher, Nicholle, and David DeSouza and Lydia and Wyatt Neves; and a great-granddaughter Aeriena DeSouza.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 13, at 10 a.m. in the Baptist Church of Grafton, 1 South St., Grafton. Viewing will be from 9 to 10 a.m. at the church prior to the service. Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery in Upton.
