Adults interested in starting new and rewarding careers in the healthcare industry are encouraged to attend the Practical Nursing Open House at Blackstone Valley Regional Vocational Technical High School.
The informational event will be held on March 23, 2016, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Blackstone Valley Tech campus, 65 Pleasant Street in Upton, Mass. The open house will include tours of the program’s laboratories, informational presentations, and the chance to speak directly with students and staff. Enrollment is now open for the Practical Nursing class beginning in August 2016. Applications can be downloaded online at [www.valleytech.k12.ma.us] and will be available during the open house.
Valley Tech’s post-secondary Practical Nursing program was established in 2009 to help men and women make the leap onto career pathways in nursing. To accommodate non-traditional students balancing personal and professional commitments, the program utilizes a non-traditional schedule: classes meet for 6.5 hours a night on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays and one weekend per month for a total of 60 weeks.
Graduates of the BVT program have maintained a pass rate of 100% on the National Council Licensure Exam (NCLEX) for Practical Nurses.
