funeral candleCorey J. Noel, 35, of Whitinsville and formerly of Upton, died unexpectedly of an aneurysm on Thursday evening, March 3, 2016 in the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester. He was the husband of Gretchen R. (Mahler) Noel.

Corey was born in Milford, the son of Eugene and Lori (Howarth) Noel of Upton, and was a graduate of Nipmuc Regional High School. A heavy equipment operator for WW Contracting Corp. of Upton, he moved from Upton to Whitinsville 13 years ago. He was a car and motorcycle enthusiast who enjoyed fishing, playing baseball with his son, and recently rediscovered his love of ice skating. He was a communicant of St. Patrick Parish in Whitinsville and a former member of Teamsters Local 170 of Worcester.

In addition to his wife of 9 years and his parents, he leaves one son, Garrett J. Noel of Whitinsville; a brother, Chad B. Noel and his wife Jaclyn of Douglas; his maternal grandmother, Carol Howarth of Vero Beach, FL; paternal grandparents, Henry and Constance Noel of Upton;  two nieces, Addison Noel of Douglas and Bella Shaw of Northbridge; and aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 8, from the Williams-Pedersen Funeral Home, 45 Main St., Upton, with a funeral mass at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick Church, 1 Cross Street, Whitinsville. Burial will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery, Providence Road, Whitinsville.

Calling hours at the funeral home are Monday from 5 to 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations would be appreciated to the Garrett Noel Fund, c/o UniBank, 113 Main St., Upton 01568.
