Hannaford Supermarket In Milford To Become Big Y

If your favorite supermarket in Milford is Hannaford this may be a sad news for you.

The Milford Hannaford is set to become a Big Y in a transaction which is expected to be completed by September, Big Y announced in a press release.

“Big Y intends to hire as many current Hannaford employees as possible. Following the closing of the transaction, these stores will close for a few days in order to make some minor renovations such as rebranding and signage, equipment upgrades, cleaning, painting, and re-stocking with fresh product. The stores will re-open under the Big Y banner,” the release said.

The other Hannaford stores included in the pending purchase are located in Easton, Quincy, Norwood, Kingston, Norwell, West Peabody, and Saugus.

If you love shopping at Hannaford, check out their Uxbridge location…no news might be good news for that location.
