  1. Thank you for including this new opportunity for Yoga in Upton! My class will meet Tuesday and Thursday mornings throughout the month of October from 9:30-10:45am at V Organics, Main St., Upton. I received my teachers training through MetroWest Yoga in Westborough and have been instructing at Anytime Fitness in Medway for the past five years. I have seen students regain strength and flexibility, reach personal goals for weight loss and experience a shift away from obsessive, repetitive, negative thinking through yoga practice. This is not a sedate, gentle stretching exercise. Vinyasa Flow is a powerful practice that will challenge you mentally and physically. Sign up at V Organics or email me at: happlegate2@gmail.com

  2. Upton Recreation presents
    SUMMER Yoga with Lara
Lara Wahl has practiced various styles of yoga since 1999. She has over 12 years experience teaching, and has earned her certification at the Sivananda Forest Academy in Kerela, India. She also studied Ashtanga Yoga in Mysore, India- the birthplace of Ashtanga yoga; and Vinyasa yoga in Cambridge, MA at the Baron Baptiste Yoga center. She has taught at some of the most reespected yoga centers in the Greater Boston area. When she moved to Upton to start a family in 2006, seeing that there were no yoga programs in place, she was happy to be able to bring this healing gift to the community. She has taught in Upton for 6 years. Rec Com classes make these valuable teachings more accessible to a wide variety of people and she is so happy to be able to support the town’s efforts towards public health and fitness. Join us for our ongoing Rec classes.

    NOW through the summer!

    Wednesdays

    5:45-6:45 pm Level I

    7:00-8:00 pm Level II

In these classes we will move in flowing postures using the breath as guide. We will stretch, strengthen, and relax as we

take part in these all level classes. Yoga is a GREAT way to let go of stress and tension while increasing flexibility and toning muscles in a safe and effective way. Modifications will be provided for beginners, as well as ways to challenge postures for the more advanced students. At the end of each class is arestorative sequence followed by a final relaxation, so you will feel energized yet relaxed as you leave class.

Level I: This foundation class is great for beginners or those working with injuries or limitations.

Level II: This is an intermediate class which integrates more challenging poses into a flowing Vinyasa style class; sure to get your heartbeat up.

  3. So grateful for this resource Jen! and am thrilled that Yoga has really taken off in town. I remember 6 years ago moving here and starting the Rec Com Yoga classes with Dave Adams, and now it is widespread, I hope I don’t sound pretentious, but I can’t help feel some pride in the fact that the healing power of yoga has really spread like wild fire. Having done my training in India and then more training in Boston, having been teaching for over 12 years, I have really seen this thing grow here in the States. Always grateful. Little by little we are helping to heal each other. Namaste~
