Please take the survey and say if you are planning or not planning on purchasing the 64 gallon recycling barrels.

So, it’s SMALLER than the normal trash bin provided. I don’t know about others but we have way more recycle trash than true, non-recycable trash. That just seems backwards to me.
True. I called the BOH to ask more about this. They’ll be using the same recycling trucks, so the men working need to be able to lift up the bins. These wheeled bins will be 4 times the capacity of the blue recycling bins issued to the town.
Here are my personal incentives:
1. No more recycling blowing around the yard/street that I have to pick up 1, 2, 3 times a day when it’s windy out. (Wait… is that mine or my neighbor’s?)
2. No more paper/cardboard sitting out in the rain (leaving a soggy mess on my driveway) and snow (getting covered up and sometimes left there).
3. One wheeled barrel… so much easier than lugging several crates out to the curb and back again.
4. One central place I can dump it all in rather than taking up several spots in the garage & house until collection day.
I sure hope enough people sign up for this! Spread the word!
Carrie, you don’t need to separate plastic/glass/paper with the new bins?
No need to separate. In fact it’s co-mingled now if you wish.

True, Pat. You can put recycling out in any kind of bin you want, so there is no incentive to get this barrel.
Way too expensive, you can buy barrels with top for $15 at Walmart.
