The National Weather Service in Taunton has issued a winter storm warning for heavy snow. The warning is in effect from 4 a.m. Thursday to 10 a.m. Friday.
Overnight light snow will develop around midnight leaving anywhere from a dusting to 2 inches on the ground for the commute Thursday morning. Light snow will continue throughout the morning Thursday becoming heavier as the day progresses. Local weather stations are predicting up to 6 inches on the ground by the evening commute on Thursday. Overnight on Thursday the snow will become heavy and temperatures will drop to the single digits. The storm will end sometime late Friday morning and leave the area with up to 12 inches of snow.
Kids and parents throughout the state will be watching the school closing lists tonight and tomorrow morning. Several Massachusetts schools have already made announcements closing school for Thursday and Friday. As of the time of this publication Uxbridge had announced they will be closed on Thursday.
