Roads are slick – another car vs pole MVA in Upton

The Upton Police Department is reporting another car vs. utility pole accident this time on Hopkinton Road. National Grid is on scene to replace the pole. Residents in the area of #121 Hopkinton Road may experience a brief power outage. The Upton Police Department said there have been multiple accidents on Hopkinton Road.

  1. It really points out the need for people without snow tires to stay off the roads when it’s snowing.

  2. The on going saga of South St and Plumbly Rd. At the intersection of these 2 rds you will find the snow plowed always on the left of Plumbley, making it difficult to see oncoming traffic with out entering the intersection. (accident waiting to happen) Solution is very simple! Plow the snow on the opposite side of Plumbly where there are no obstacales to prevent the snow from being pushed away from the intersection.

  3. the DPW are out on the roads – they start on primary, then secondary, and then smaller neighborhood roads. Depends where you are when you will see them HTH

  4. The roads are full of snow. I have not seen any plows. Has anyone seen plows or sanders or anything? Seems like once they cancel school, the roads aren’t touched until the snow stops.
