Pilot, the lost Shepherd mix, remains missing since she got loose from Lucky Dogs Day Care on Monday, January 6. Pilot continues to be spotted in the area of Pinz and Fruit Street in Milford but unfortunately has not been rescued.
Residents from Mendon and Upton stepped forward and helped search for the lost pup this past week. Lisa Sebastiano of Upton is worried about Pilot so she spent some time looking for her. Although Lisa doesn’t know the owner her heart goes out to her and her missing pup. Lisa knows what it’s like to own a rescued dog who is skittish and afraid of people. Lisa owns 3 rescued pups herself, loves dogs, and hopes Pilot finds her way home soon.
Deb Lane of Mendon has been out looking hoping to find with no luck; a few years ago Deb helped Mendon Animal rescue a dog.
Upton Daily has received several comments and messages looking for updates on Pilot. The community has fallen in love with this lady pup and hopes she finds her way home soon.
Yesterday Granite State Dog Search asked the community to not go out and actively search for Pilot. “The key is that NO ONE APPROACH or even call her or try to give her food or she will bolt. If sighted, immediately call Kelly at 978-549-5047 and she will come right away.” Granite State Dog Rescue said those who wish to help should go to Lucky Dogs for flyers and information about where to put them .
If you are in the area and see people searching Granite State Dog Rescue asks that you emphasize to them to do nothing but call Kelly with the location and travel direction.
Granite State Dog rescue said the biggest concern at this time is the pup being hit by a car which is part of their reasoning for asking the community to take a step back in the search. They are afraid Pilot will be spooked and bolt across a roadway. Pilot has been surviving by scavenging food and she can survive doing this for quite some time and is in no danger of starvation.
