At approximately 9:30 p.m. Upton Police and Fire responded to a two vehicle crash on Pleasant Street near Blackstone Valley Technical High School.
According to Police Chief Bradley a 17-year-old juvenile from Mendon was driving east bound on Pleasant Street in a 2005 Dodge Neon. The juvenile attempted to turn left into the parking lot of BVT and failed to grant the right of way to a vehicle travelling west bound on Pleasant Street. The juvenile struck a 2009 Chevy Aveo, operated by Christine Markey, 50 years old from Millbury. Markey’s vehicle spun around 180 degrees coming to rest on the sidewalk. She was transported to Milford Regional Hospital for minor injuries.
The juvenile operator and four passengers in the vehicle were not injured.
The juvenile operator was cited for failure to yield right of way and for a junior operator passenger restriction.
