Learn to co-exist and avoid conflict with Eastern Coyote and Red and Grey Fox

coyoteIn response to numerous calls related to fox and coyotes in Upton neighborhoods,  Animal Control Officer Cori Oehley has made arrangements for the Massachusetts Division of Fisheries and Wildlife to present LIVING WITH BACKYARD WILDLIFE.

Susan Ingalls of the Mass Division of Fishers and Wildlife will discuss the natural history and behavior of the Eastern Coyote  and the Red and Grey Fox in our area. Ingalls will also discuss how residents can avoid conflicts and co-exist in harmony with these animals.

The event is free for adults. Donations to the MA Outdoor Heritage will be graciously accepted.

  1. We live close to Elm Street and were saddened last spring to lose a familiar neighborhood visitor (a small female red fox). She was killed by a speeding vehicle. Like so many small animals – squirrels, turtles, snakes, chipmunks, frogs, salamanders…they will be crossing roads more often as temps rise. Please look for them…especially at dusk, dawn and on rainy nights. We miss seeing her morning rounds.

    1. Yes, that’s very sad. I do hope you will tell folks about this presentation.
If we can learn more about our wildlife, we will develop an appreciation for it rather than a fear of it. Susan Ingalls does a fantastic presentation . Cori
