MASSACHUSETTS TEACHERS ASSOCIATION ENDORSES MARTY GREEN

IMG_5565_Marty Green_5x7“Martin Green is an outstanding candidate for state representative,” said MTA President Barbara Madeloni. “Martin is committed to advocating for students and our schools, colleges and universities – and he will make the right choices to help working families and communities across our Commonwealth.”

Mr. Green has a 20 plus year history of advocating for life- long learning experiences for students and residents of the Blackstone Valley. Marty is a founding member of two education foundations, the Blackstone Valley Education Foundation and the Northbridge Education Foundation. In addition Marty has served on two Superintendents search committees.

Marty has been a long time advocate for locating a Quinsigamond College satellite campus in the Blackstone Valley. Marty was involved in the effort while serving as Executive Director of the Blackstone Valley Chamber of Commerce and recently on the regional planning committee. Bringing a community college campus to the valley is critical to expanding our post secondary educational opportunities for residents and training opportunities for business. It will be a vital economic development engine for the region.

Marty looks forward to working with fellow legislators, business leaders and Quinsigamond College leaders in bringing the college to the Blackstone Valley.

  1. Barbara Madeloni is the poster child for what is wrong with public education in the Commonwealth and the country. Marty Green would be just another progressive face on the dysfunctional totem that is government education.

  2. CORE is an inexcuseable manifestation of Government indocrinationof students and displays none of the “elevated concern’ for their quality education that it bills itself as doing. It further restricts out teachers from following proven training methods the best teachers do so well. We see no proposal here of how Marty intends to combat this intrusion of politicians into the curriculums. We do NOT see HOW the MTA can endorse ANYBODY without specifics addressing this horrific situation!
