Letter: David Muradian has ability to find solutions by Peter Carlson

Dear Editor,

My name is Peter R. Carlson and for the record I am an elected member of the Grafton School Committee.  My comments and views within this article are mine alone and do not represent the Grafton Public Schools, The Grafton School Committee Members or any other official town affiliate.

I put a great emphasis on our public education system and believe that we must do everything within our power to provide our children with ample opportunity to grow. It is refreshing to see a candidate express their solutions to our problems, and I support David Muradian for doing just that.

An issue that is of great importance is unfunded mandates coming down from the state and federal government. Without funding for these mandates, they become yet another burden onto our school system and in turn, our community and taxpayers.

David Muradian has taken the position and strongly oppose any unfunded mandates.  In addition, David has vowed to fight for a change in the education funding formula so that funding may happen in a more equitable manner with our surrounding towns.  He also has taken the position on the excess revenue generated by the lottery and will fight to bring back that additional money to our community, where it is supposed to go in the first place!

David Muradian has demonstrated an ability to look at our problems, and find solutions. In reviewing his website, it is easy to see why David is the most qualified candidate; he provides insight into his solutions. David articulates himself on many issues that the voters care about, and will continue to work with our local officials.

We cannot afford to elect a State Representative who will burden our schools with unfunded mandates. I stand with David Muradian and urge you to join me in voting for Dave on Tuesday, November 4th.

Sincerely,

Peter Carlson

  1. I could not agree more! It was very wonderful to see David outline a real solution to special ed funding in the Commonwealth, let’s fix that circuit breaker!
