BOSTON – Senator Michael Moore (D-Millbury) was recently honored to deliver a keynote address to the Graduate and Professional Concerns Committee Symposium which was held at the Harvard Graduate School of Education on February 6, 2015. The event was sponsored by the Massachusetts Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (MASFAA). As the Senate Chairman of the Joint Committee on Higher Education, Senator Moore spoke to the group about the funding challenges and issues of concern for Higher Education in the Commonwealth, and also highlighted the many successful initiatives put forth by the legislature recently to address the rising costs of post-secondary education.
“Together we must strive for a system that upholds the Commonwealth’s long-standing academic ideals, while recognizing and responding to the practical needs of today’s students. Our work in the upcoming legislative session will be integral to the continued progress of our higher education system” said Senator Moore in his comments to the group.
The mission of the Graduate and Professional Concerns Committee (GPCC) is to provide support to the graduate and professional financial aid community to assist them in serving students; and to build and strengthen the network of graduate and professional financial aid administrators in Massachusetts.
