Teen who created hit list to face criminal charges

uptonpolicepress release from the Upton Police Department

The Upton Police Department is investigating an incident involving a 15-year-old male student at Nipmuc Regional High School . The student was alleged to have created a list of students he may wish to harm. The list was brought to the attention of school counselors and administrators by a fellow student.

During our investigation is was revealed that the list was created approximately one month ago, but was only recently brought to the attention of school staff. The student has been removed from Nipmuc Regional High School and a disciplinary process consistent with school and district policy as well as state law has commenced. The Juvenile will face criminal charges in Milford Juvenile Court.

The Upton Police Department assisted school administrators in contacting parents of the student who were on the list and were present at a meeting earlier today to discuss the threat and answer questions regarding the case. The Juvenile at the center of the case has not had contact with the Upton Police Department in the past and the family has been cooperative with our investigation.
