Blackstone Valley Tech is proud to announce that copies of its annual report are now available to residents of the Blackstone Valley Vocational Regional School District.
Spanning fiscal year 2015 (FY15), the report covers Valley Tech’s finances and business operations, as well as student accomplishments and major developments. According to Superintendent-Director Dr. Michael Fitzpatrick, the document plays an important role in keeping the community informed of its vocational technical education delivery system.
“As taxpayers, the residents of our 13-town district have a vested interest in Valley Tech’s success,” said Fitzpatrick. “The annual report provides them with a detailed account of how their investment was utilized and the return it yielded over the prior fiscal year.”
The annual report also includes profiles of Valley Tech graduates who credit their alma mater with preparing them for professional and personal success, including 2006 graduate Ryan Chamberland of Blackstone. After getting his start in politics as Valley Tech Class President, Ryan was elected to his hometown’s board of selectmen, played a key role in Governor Charlie Baker’s 2014 campaign victory, and is now working as the Director of the Governor’s Office for Western Massachusetts.
The report also profiles athletics star and 2013 graduate Isabella “Bella” Picard of Upton, who is drawing on lessons learned at Valley Tech as she recovers from a severe neck injury sustained in a NCAA Division I softball game.
