This weekend the East Coast Force Gold and Elite 18U Softball Teams along with eight other local teams will be holding a charity softball tournament for Bella Picard of Upton who is dealing with a serious injury which occurred while playing softball at college last spring.
On April 18, 2015, Bella suffered a spinal cord injury after a collision in a college softball game and lost the ability to use the right side of her body, affecting mostly her right arm and right leg. Bella is determined to not only walk again but to go back to playing Division 1 college softball again.
According to Bella’s youcaring page, over the past two months Bella has hit major milestones in her recovery. She has walked 23 yards without assistance and continues to walk with only the use of a cane and a leg brace. Bella and her family are hoping to get an amazing piece of technology for her leg soon that will do wonders in her recovery. As you can imagine, this journey has brought along a lot of expenses.
Tee shirts are being sold for $10, and donations will be accepted during the tournament.
If you can’t make the tournament and would like to make a donation visit Bella’s youcaring page at Bring Back the Right Side.
