Nipmuc Seniors Brooke Bukunt and Maggie Moss are hosting a Christmas Family Fun Night at Nipmuc High School to benefit the American Heart Association on Friday, December 18 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. as part of their public relations DECA project.
Families from the Mendon-Upton area are invited to join Brooke and Maggie for a night filled with arts and crafts, hot cocoa, cookie decorating, meet and greet with Santa, and much more all for a suggested donation of $5 to benefit the American Heart Association.
Maggie and Brooke have teamed up with the American Heart Association to spread awareness for the importance of healthy lifestyle choices through their campaign Healthy Habits for Healthy Hearts. They said, “The goal of the event is to create a fun environment for families to spend time together while learning about small, but impactful ways to make their lives healthier.”
“Last spring, my grandmother died unexpectedly of a heart attack, so I understand how much a loss like that can impact someone’s life,” said Brooke. “A lot of cases, including hers, could have been less severe or been avoided completely by making some better lifestyle choices,” she said.
All process will go toward the American Heart Association. Hot Cocoa, Cookie decorating, and the showing of the movie Elf with also be part of the event. For additional information contact Brooke Bukunt at BrookeB100@yahoo.com.
