In a ceremony on Wednesday, February 3, seven Nipmuc senior student-athletes who have committed to play their respective sport at the collegiate level were recognized. The athletes were joined by their parents, coaches, friends, administration, and Athletic Director Christopher Schmidt who reminded them of the dedication it takes to balance academics and athletics. “It’s a pleasure to be here and acknowledge our student-athletes. The commitment they have made should be recognized,” Schmidt said.
Kayla Peabody will play softball at Assumption College, where she will major in business.
Kevin Hack joined the track and field team at Assumption College, where he will major in biology/pre-med.
Ryan Nordquest will play baseball at Gordon College, where he will major in business.
Tom Sperino will play baseball at Franklin Peirce University. His major is undeclared, he is interested in sports management and health sciences.
Grant Jorgensen will play football at Norwich University. Grant will be majoring in mechanical engineering and joining their military program. Grant inspires to be in the Navy and hopes to join the ROTC program at Norwich.
Amanda St. Germain will play soccer at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), where she will major in biomedical engineering.
Kiley Larocque will play soccer at Saint Anselms College, where she will major in biology.
