Eugene W. Odell, 58, of Upton, died Friday evening, May 27, 2016 in Milford Regional Medical Center in Milford after he was stricken ill. He was the husband of Claire M. (Givani) Odell.Born in North Adams, he was the son of Joan L. (Williams) Odell of Natick and the late Eugene I. Odell. He worked as a mechanic for BFI of Holliston, Milton CAT of Milford, and most recently for BP Trucking of Ashland. A resident of Milford for 13 years before coming to Upton two years ago, he loved hunting and especially enjoyed times at the lake in Maine.
In addition to his wife of 13 years and his mother, Gene leaves five children, Eugene Dozois of Keene, NH, Andrea Odell of Framingham, Jon Odell of Millis, and Brian and Kelsey Gaffney of Milford; a brother, Daniel Odell of Natick; three sisters, Peggy Zwang of Webster, Tracy Odell of Northbridge, and Brenda Castagna of Hopedale; four grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Joan Odell and Sandra Colbeth, who he is now going to greet.
Following cremation, a private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
