There was a close call at Miscoe yesterday when a school employee was hit by a school bus at dismissal.
According to Mendon Police at approximately 2:46 p.m. a Miscoe employee was leaving the building through the gymnasium doors when she was sideswiped by an empty school bus.
Police said the employee walked in front of the bus without issue and continued to cross to the parking lot toward their vehicle. As the bus began to turn it’s rear sideswiped the employee knocking her to the ground.
According to police, the bus driver said she didn’t see the employee after she crossed because she was walking in a blind spot.
The employee was transported to the hospital with minor injuries and was later released.
I am so afraid a kid will be next–or there will be a car/bus collision. Something needs to be done with how buses and cars are directed after school. Teachers are not the answer.
