Man Life Flighted From BVT After Fall

A man was airlifted to UMASS Memorial Medical Center after suffering injuries when he fell from a ladder while working on the roof replacement project at Blackstone Valley Tech.

On Wednesday,  June 15, 2016 at approximately 11:00 a.m., Silktown Roofing, Inc. informed BVT that a Silktown Roofing employee working on the BVT roof replacement project had fallen off a ladder located at the rear exterior of the BVT facility.

Based on the nature of the incident and the height of the ladder from which the Silktown Roofing employee fell, the Upton Fire Department determined that the Silktown Roofing employee required transport via helicopter to UMASS Memorial Medical Center in Worcester.

Upton Police Department assumed control of the scene and notified the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) of the incident.
