Chairman of the Board of Selectman Jim Brochu took a moment to recognize the DPW Department during the August 2 Selectmen Meeting.
Brochu noted the Town has had a string of bad luck over the past several weeks with water breaks. “This never happens at a convenient time or on a nice cool day,” said Brochu.
One of the recent breaks occurred on Maple Ave on Friday, July 15 – a sweltering hot day with temperatures in the mid-90s. The break was discovered at approximately 1:00 p.m.; the leak found at approximately 4:30 p.m.
Brochu was thrilled with the response from the DPW crew.
“These types of problems never happen at a convenient time…. I’m sure it affected people’s plans and vacations. Thank you for the commitment and thank you for the professionalism,” said Brochu.
