Upton Town Manager Blythe Robinson gave a “shout out” to Bill Taylor and the Green Community Committee during the August 2 Selectmen’s Meeting.
Robinson said during a recent meeting with the State Green Community Representative she was pleased to learn that of the 155 communities in the State that are in the program, Upton is the first one to accomplish applying for and winning a competitive grant the year immediately following achieving the green community designation.
“That seems quite a mountain to get over and Bill has been doing it as a volunteer,” said Robinson. “I think he deserves a lot of credit for that,” she said.
The committee is looking forward to some upcoming projects which include lighting and weatherization.
