State Representative David K. Muradian, Jr. (R-Grafton), is proud to announce that Upton has been awarded a Municipal Energy Technical Assistance (META) grant from the “Green Communities” Division of the Department of Energy Resources (DOER).
The Baker-Polito Administration recently awarded 75 cities and towns across the Commonwealth a Municipal Energy Technical Assistance (META) grant. This program was created in an attempt to help support local energy projects, improve clean energy plans and help reduce energy costs. This grant can be awarded to Massachusetts municipalities, regional school districts, and water/wastewater districts to help support the development of energy projects. Out of the 75 cities and towns awarded these funds, Upton received a $5,000 grant.
“I am excited to announce that Upton is a recipient of the Municipal Energy Technical Assistance grant,” said Representative Muradian. “I want to thank the Baker-Polito Administration and Department of Energy Resources for their constant dedication to moving Massachusetts towards a greener future. This META grant is an important step towards promoting clean energy projects and reducing our overall emissions.”
