The Upton Open Space Committee and the Friends of Upton State Forest hope you can find the time to join them for this event. It should prove to be fascinating and delicious!
On Sunday, October 23rd, the Upton Open Space Committee and The Friends of Upton State Forest are co-hosting a fungus foraging presentation with a focus on edibles. We begin at 10 AM for a two hour educational talk to which all are invited. After noon we will go out into the field to learn more about identification and to forage. Then for the best part, we bring back to the kitchen what we collect for cooking and tasting. The afternoon program is strictly limited to 16 individuals and spaces must be confirmed by submitting your e-mail address to uptonopenspaceevents@charter.net. It is first come, first served.
The program is free of charge and takes place at the Upton Senior Center, 2 Farm Street. Parking is limited. Participants in the afternoon portion of the program will be required to sign liability waivers.
