Nipmuc Regional High School Students Host Road Race to Support Troops – It’s a Color Run

colorrunOn November 16, 2013, Nipmuc Regional High School students Anna Young and Taylor Russell will be hosting  Military Run: Support Our Troops.

The event is a 5k relatively flat road race with a twist. The race is less about your 10-minute-mile and more about having the time of your life, The Color Run is an un-timed race in which participants, or “Color Runners”, are doused from head to toe in different colors throughout the race. Taylor and Anna have selected colors to remind participants of our troops.  Monies raised will be used to assemble and send care packages over seas to deployed troops. The event will also fulfill Anna and Taylor’s DECA community project.

DECA is a business-oriented national organization which provides its members with an idea of how things work in the world of business and finance. DECA prepares students to be emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management.

The Military Run will start at 10:00 a.m. at  Nipmuc Regional High School, 90 Pleasant Street Upton, MA 01568. There will be water stations along the course and ten awards.

Registration: $ 20 for pre-registration or $25 the day of race.  Students with a local high school ID can preregister for $17 or $22 the day of the race. Here is a link with the registration form. There will be water stations along the course and ten awards.

  1. I thought I was back in India for a minute! They use these powder paints during their “Holi” festival of colors! how fun. I still have a shirt that has been permanently dyed from this. Glad the kids had fun!
