BOSTON- Senator Michael O. Moore (D-Millbury), Senate Chair of the Joint Committee on Higher Education, met with a Chinese delegation at the State House to discuss higher education in the Commonwealth. The delegation was part of the National Committee on United States-China Relations.

“Every day, on campuses across the Commonwealth, amazing work is being accomplished. Students and faculty are developing new and innovative ideas, which will transform the world that we live in,” said Senator Moore. “Massachusetts is not only a leader in higher education in the United States, but across the globe with our world-renowned education.”

The 12-member delegation consisted of Qu Zhenyuan, delegation leader and Chair of the China Association of Higher Education, Dr. Fan Dongping, Dean of the School of Public Administration at the South China Normal University (SCNU) in Guangzhou, Dr. Hou Dingkai, Dr. Li Gui’an, Liu Guiqin, Chinese Ministry of Education, Liu Xiao, Deputy Director for American Affairs at the Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges at the Chinese Ministry of Education, Dr. Wang Xiaoyang, Director of the Higher Educational Research Institute, Dr. Xia Qiang, Dr. Xu Lei, Dr. Yu Dongsheng, Director of the National Base for Culture-Oriented Quality Education of University Students at the Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Dr. Yu Zhigang, professor of criminal law at the School of Law at China University of Political Science and Law in Beijing and Dr. Zheng Chenglin, Deputy Director of the Institute of Modern Chinese History at Central China Normal University.
