In what has become an annual ceremony, the Massachusetts Association of School Committees (MASC) recently presented its Student Champions Award for Excellence to several Blackstone Valley Tech students and graduates.
At the BVT School Committee’s December meeting, six awards were presented by MASC Immediate Past President Patrick Francomano in recognition of the students’ gold medal victories at the 2015 SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference Championships held in Kansas City, Missouri, in June 2015. Considered the Olympics of vocational technical education, the annual SkillsUSA competition features thousands of the nation’s top career technical education students competing in trade-based events judged by panels of business and industry experts.
