Kiwanis Beach Temporarily Closed

The Upton Board of Health announced on August 5, 2017 that Kiwanis Beach will be temporarily closed due to recent lab results indicating an elevated bacteria level at Pratt Pond.  Further testing will be conducted on Monday, August 7th and the beach will re-open once lab results indicate the bacteria levels have dropped below the limit required by the Department of Public Health.  For more information, you may contact the BOH office at 508-529-6813. … [Read more...]

Harold W. Coakley, 88, of Upton and formerly of Newton and Kissimmee, FL, died Saturday, July 15, 2017 after an illness. He was the husband of Gloria J. (Magnarelli) Coakley.     Mr. Coakley was born in Newton, a son of the late Daniel J. and Cecilia (Mullahey) Coakley. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and the chef/owner of restaurants in Millis, Waltham and Orlando, FL before retiring.
