Upton and Mendon added to local towns reporting suspicious person approaching children

warningUpton and Mendon Police Departments reported Saturday May 2 incidents involving a middle aged white man in a grey sedan suspiciously approaching young children.

Upton Police said, “An 11 year old girl was approached and asked for directions by a grey sedan being operated by a middle aged white male. The incident took place on Elm Street, however reports of a suspicious vehicle were also received on Florence Circle and River Bend Road that had a similar description. If you have any information regarding this incident or observe anything suspicious, please contact the Upton Police Department at 508-529-3200.”

Later on Saturday Mendon Police reported “The Mendon Police Department is investigating an incident involving a young male child who was frightened by the male operator of a vehicle on Millville Street sometime around 4:00 p.m. today. The young child was crying when his mother contacted police to report the incident. The vehicle is being described as a Chevrolet Impala, Gray in color, with rounded tail lights. The operator was a male but no further description was available. The vehicle involved is similar to the Northbridge and Uxbridge incidents this past Thursday.The vehicle was last seen traveling on Millville Street towards Millville. If you have any information regarding this incident, you are asked to contact the Mendon Police at 508-473-2727.”

Earlier this week similar incidents were reported in Uxbridge and Northbridge.
